These scholarships are for Saskatchewan youth, under 19, except for the Bruce Gandy BDS Scholarships and the Winnipeg Police Scholarships.

*The Winnipeg Police Pipe Band  Scholarships - 2 students

The Winnipeg Police Pipe Band is once again generously sponsoring Manitoba students to attend the camp! The scholarships are for full tuition and accommodation at Sound Advice 2022. Please apply directly to the band.

Community Initiatives FundsCommunity Initiative Fund Scholarships (10 x $600)
The Community Initiatives Fund scholarships are for Saskatchewan youth who come mostly from communities outside of Regina and Saskatoon. We are really looking to develop experience and skills in players from smaller centres where they will be able to share their experiences and enthusiasm.

 

*The Brin Family Scholarship (2 x $250) 
The Brin Family has three pipers who all played in Saskatchewan pipe bands: The Prince Albert Highlanders, The 96th Highlanders, Strathfleet Pipe Band, and The City of Regina Pipe Band. Dani (Brin) Millar has played with the SFU Pipe Band since 1995, winning 6 World Pipe Band Championships, and having played concerts on major stages around the World. We are extremely pleased to have Dani as an instructor at Sound Advice. 

The Balcarres Scholarship (1 x $500) 
These scholarships are to encourage youth musicians from Saskatchewan communities. Donated by an adult piper in the Conservatory "Bagpipe Studies" Program.

The Duncan Robert Fisher Memorial Bursary ($585) 
Dunc Fisher was an amazing person who achieved success in everything he did, and he contributed so much to his community. Read his bio here. Offered by his family members in his memory. 

The Jack Aldcorn Memorial Scholarship (1 x $660) 
Regina's RCMP Pipes & Drums are offering a scholarship for students at this year's school in memory of the late Jack Aldcorn, a devotyed member of the RCMP Pipe Band, a student of the Conservatory Adult Program, and also the past treasurer of the SPBA. Jack did a lot of great work on behalf of pipe bands and the sumer school.

Thomas ‘Tommy’ Leonard Memorial Scholarship (1 x $250)
[Open to qualified drummer applicants living in Saskatchewan and qualified applicants living in Manitoba north of the 53rd parallel.]
Thomas ‘Tommy’ Leonard was born in Dundee, Scotland in 1912. He was a drummer in the Dundee Boys Brigade Band. Tommy and his family emigrated to Canada in 1948 where he took up employment in the northern Manitoba/Saskatchewan mining town of Flin Flon. The mining company had recently sponsored the development of a Pipe Band and Tommy was soon involved as Lead Stroke. From that time on he recruited and tutored scores of adults and young lads in the art of Highland snare, tenor and bass drumming. Thomas Leonard passed in 1960.  Sponsored by: Vincent Murphy-Dodds

*The Scottish Heritage Society of Regina (2 x $250) 
Formerly The Sons of Scotland, Camp Balmoral and active in Regina since 1896, the SHSR is supporting young students with two $250 scholarships.

The Schmidt Family Scholarship (2 x $300) 
Allan and Sharon Schmidt have been huge contributors to the Scottish scene in Regina through pipe bands, the SHSR and the Highland Games.

The City of Regina Pipe Band Scholarships (TBA)
The City of Regina Pipe Band is offering scholarships for members of the Conservatory of Performing Arts Pipe Band.

The Custom Drum Sound (CDS)_ Drumming Scholarship ($585)
Full tuition for one youth pipe band drummer from North America's favourite pipe band drum source. CDS has been supporting drummers, drum corps and pipe bands across North America for over 30 years.
