Part 1: Preparing a Band for Public Performance

1:00 – 2:30 pm

Who: this would be for all band executive, instructors and players in all levels of pipe bands who perform for the public.

Format: this will be a Zoom presentation, with time for Q&A and discussion.

Presenters: The Leadership Team from the Vancouver Police Pipe Band will present and discuss their experience preparing the band for the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. P-M Cal Davis and P-Sgt Bob Murphie will discuss what it takes to prepare your band for its best performance. The Vancouver Police have performed all over the world, including a performance at the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace in London!

Part 2: Performance: Delivering Your Own Awesome

2:30 – 3:00 pm

Who: this would be for all band executive, instructors and players in all levels of pipe bands who perform for the public.

Format: this will be a Zoom presentation, with a few tunes to follow.

Presenters: Gold Medallist Bruce Gandy will do a short presentation about his recently published book on developing your performance capability, followed by a few tunes.

REGISTRATION: There will be a $10 fee for Dec 12, payable in advance when you register at the SPBA web site. Event registrants will be provided with a Zoom meeting code and password prior to the event.
